i found the SNES version to be an awful but beautiful game, but i fell in love with the trials of mana remake. so damn good! it fixed every problem i had with the original, and then some. in the circles i run in, the remake was very well received (even though some folks still prefer to original)

it's my all time favorite game. i know how janky it is, i know how busted some of the mechanics are. it is, by all reasonable standards, a badly designed game. but i love it in spite of that, because i find there's still enough about it to enjoy. and it's perfectly cool for others to not like it
