One of the things I've just really liked doing in Final Days is showing HOW different characters realize the truth. You have characters seeking absolute proof, make quick deductions, make slow deductions, characters who trust their own inferences, and one who missed seeing the forest for the trees

If you look at a lot of manga--the most complex backgrounds are establishing shots and whenever blocking in the scene comes up (where the characters are moving/standing). It can vary a lot, but many panels are just talking heads with a suggestion of a background, or none.

I guess that association came up b/c when I was a teenager, the people I hung out with were in that in-between state of being taken care of by parents and needing to be an adult. I guess it's SIGNIFICANTLY easier when everyone is definitely an adult now.

What's also helped re: self-consciousness; I've deliberately limited my friendliness in the past because I've associated "friend" with "someone who needs me to take care of them". I'm trying to re-learn that it's okay to have friends and still trust that they can take care of themselves.
