before the current therapist i had, my last one literally told me that i wasn't as needy as her other patients... i was literally coming to her to sort out my stalker situation after court. but because i could call my mom to talk about it, she said she didn't relate cuz her mom was an alcoholic.

Talk therapy (the one most people think of) is so overrated, esp when the provider is not specialized in the thing for which you sought therapy. Plus their own biases can really impact the quality of care. At least that is my experience with some therapists.🥲

i learned that parents get really exasperated teaching their kids and the kids don't be listening anyway. i asked the kids what their parents can do to help them be better learners and they said, "find someone else to help me learn cuz i don't like them teaching me" LOL
