i genuinely think it would be a cool portrait to end the monarchy on, ppl years from now would have so much fun interpreting the symbolism of that lmao

this is what gets me!! don't they think it would be easier to convince their friends to support ending the genocide in order to push biden on the issue, than to try and fail to convince a bunch of ppl who don't fucking trust them to vote for him while he's actively aiding genocide?

the us and israel have surely made each other worse, but the us was racist, imperialist, and genocidal since long before israel existed

The more I hear it the more it sounds like "the longer you jews stick around anywhere but Israel you are putting yourself at risk of genocide and more importantly you are putting us at risk of committing another against you"

that's fair, I don't think the focus on labels is super helpful either, just clarifying my standpoint bc it feels more honest

are you open to some links to articles that have been helpful to me (educationally *and* emotionally) as an anti-zionist jew? (no pressure!) I think they still contain some interesting history even if someone isn't sold on anti-zionism.

Especially since it seems like the worse the gop acts, the worse the dems feel like they can act, and this "you can't criticize them because the other guy is worse" only fuels that behavior (for obvious reasons)

the thing that gives me hope is that I see more and more younger jews openly standing up for Palestine. IME a lot of younger jews have been afraid to confront their elders when it comes to Israel but are starting to see that they aren't as alone as they thought they were.

πThis really brings me back to my teenage libertarian years...watching the trajectory of that movement has been wild. the libertarianism of that time now seems dead as fuck and everyone who was there either went hard left or hard right

The fact that even my extremely zionist grandma is changing her stance on Israel in the face of just like...liberal coverage of the genocide means I have zero grace for anyone who still thinks Israel is good at this point

israel and the republican party calling protesting college kids "terrorists" is sure to convince people that israel does not use an exceptionally wide brush to paint palestinian civilians in order to justify their mass-murder

one wild realization I had recently was that despite ID'ing heavily with "good student who never got diagnosed" I...wasn't actually that good a student? I was largely a B-/C student who tested well, and the things I failed at were treated by adults like a bad choice I was making in spite of myself

i have to come back bc i'm still mad abt the implication that it was published bc big outlets are somehow more amenable to bodily autonomy arguments (but for bad faith reasons) and that that's a reason to...not make the bodily autonomy argument, even though its true?

It's weird bc being able to support your cause using multiple arguments is...a good thing? like yes. It's true that there's evidence the care is helpful, and it's also true that you should be able to access it regardless, because of bodily autonomy. Idk what he's trying to argue *against*

i like how he tries (tried?) to claim that it's not his goal to stop access but the thing he objects to is the word "reversible", yet he has nothing to say about the fact that this is an article about access being taken away! wish he would just be fucking honest at this point
