were the underdogs, and having the tech be that way for the Rebels made it clearer. In the Prequels, everything was fine and peaceful (so they thought), so everything looked shiny and hopeful. It was a nice style choice, I thought. That, and I like my Sci-fi to look 'lived in'. ^^

True, but you said Star Wars looked weird for the Prequels to look all high-tech even though they're older than the OT, I was just saying that for Star Wars it made sense. At least to me. The OT was supposed to look grungy and old because they'd been fighting for so long, and also because they 1/2

Even the Empire was looking worn, and that's what gave the OT its charm to me. It made it feel real, like it was actually a lived-in universe. And even though I don't like the Prequels, them being all 'New' made sense because they were younger and were supposed to look that way.

With Star Wars it makes sense, at least to me. The prequels were all 'New'. All the tech was supposed to look shiny and new, as were the various cities. In the original trilogy, everything was old. All the tech was used and worn, especially with the Rebels. 1/2
