This is a fair point, but I’d counter that if the Beatles hadn’t broken up when they did they might well have ended up having just as many progressively “worse” albums as the post-Brian Beach Boys did.

I think you look at Paul’s later career you get a good idea of what later Beatles would have been like. Increasingly sentimental, often very simple pop. Occasional collaborations with “newer” artists and dips into new production techniques that result in bangers like youtu.be/5EeTkF-SLxE?...
