Are you asking why *not* put them in suburban areas? One reason is that you deal with fewer land owners on farmland, and a simpler permitting process. And usually existing right of ways for transmission.

Solar and wind installations require maintenance. So it's fewer jobs than extractive industries (oil, lumber) or construction, but they last longer and are more stable

I'm my lifetime I've seen international adoptees deported because their birth parents never did their citizenship paperwork, and American citizens detained because ICE didn't believe they were citizens.

I do wish there were more rental & multifamily options in more neighborhoods. Lots of people would like to stay where they are, but not in a house with a yard to take care of.

Yeah, what most people seem to mean by it is losing compassion, not disliking change. And they're not the same. But it's definitely a thing I see inside myself as I feel close to fifty - the willingness to accept flaws and just be grateful there's a structure in place.

Minnesota doesn't do automated traffic tickets but our police do have plate tracking cameras all over anyway. I'd rather ban or control the cameras but that seems impossible so it would be nice if they did traffic enforcement with them instead of no enforcement or shooting people

That argument about Frankenstein was so perfect. I'm reading one right now where one main character only reads cozy mysteries and it's perfect for her character but also a nice change from the romance characters who all read romance.
