Oh, forgot about my other April read. Picked up Woke Up Like This from the library. I hadn’t read any Amy Lea before and wasn’t sure what to expect. I really enjoyed it. Sweet coming of age romance with some well-handled exploration of difficult/complicated friend and family relationships.

Staring out the window at our poor dying tree while working on logistics for a scene with over a dozen characters. The tree guy told us this tree should never have been planted here, and I am starting to think that the same could be said for some of the characters in this scene. 😄

You can look up cover artists on Upwork and Fiverr. Instagram has a lot of good cover artists too. Once you find an artist you like, you can write up a short project description and send it to them to ask what they would charge for your project.

Been trying to do more art again, and this is a project that actually turned out close to how I wanted it. This was done in water color pens and marker, which is an aesthetic I love.

I think there are some red states she’d rather avoid, but in general, if the area she’d be living in is more blue or even purple, she’d be happy. Are the winters in Toledo usually pretty bad? Is the city good about plowing?

My husband prefers that I don’t get too sappy about him on socials, so what I do instead is state facts about him and let everyone infer the sap. Like, last night, when my chronic stomach pains were keeping me awake, he delayed his own sleep to play me calming bossa nova songs on the guitar.

Advice, pls! My sis is searching out cheaper places to live. Anyone know of US areas with any of these: Median housing in $300,000 or lower range, liberal or moderate politics, trees & greenery but no ticks & not super bitter winters, cute/artsy districts nearby. Thanks!

New primary care doc asked very earnestly if my hair dresser checked w/ me before dyeing my hair or just did it as a surprise, & now I keep imagining a hair dresser dyeing someone’s hair pink & purple without asking then spinning their chair to face the mirror and going, “Surprise!!”

On a walk around my neighborhood tonight, I passed by an Amazon driver jumping down from his truck. “How’s it going?” he said with a friendly nod. To which I, distracted by the podcast in my ear, raised my hand in a wave and replied, “Oog.” 😄🤷🏻‍♀️

As parts of my body break down, everything else is breaking too. Printer, AC, furnace, microwave, dishwasher. Garage door probably soon. Starting to think I’m just a character in a story written by someone who thinks they’re being clever by adding all this “breaking down” symbolism in my daily life.
