Just reloaded Dark Souls 3 after finishing Elden Ring, and while there are clear thematic similarities (& possibly reused assets?) the difference the ER open wold makes to exploration freedom cannot be understated. Plus jumping with X button. Thank you.

Reminder that Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse is really really good! I do think animation houses have taken the wrong lessons from it though - we have some very pretty films using similar 3D/2D design features , but almost none have the emotional core (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish an exception)

The new #Garfield film is… weird?
Some great art design, animation, and I assume a bit of a nod to looney tunes-esque slapstick comedy. Which would work a lot better if the narrative and characterisation made sense - it sort of comes across as a series of sketches tied (very loosely) together.

It takes half the film to find its rhythm, some of the jokes don’t land, and at times you expect Sgt Murtaugh to show up and say “I’m too old for this sh*t”, but #badboys4 does end up being a good time for fans of the (up and down) series

#furiosa is a solid and enjoyable addition to the Mad Max Universe.
It’s not quite the cinematic heights of Fury Road and feels a bit more scattergun - Furiosa only completes her ultimate goal in FR after all - but still a great time at the movies.

I don’t have an issue with people trying and failing to develop new technology. I do have an issue with how easily hundreds of millions of dollars can be directed to these ventures, when there are obvious societal needs which could benefit from even a fraction of that money
