When the american liberals use France's election as an illustration of the need to VOTE, they ignore that people were not only voting against the far right but *for* something. They voted for a campaign which promises to: increase minimum wage, lower retirement age, pay for all childcare, etc

Saw it opening weekend in Rapid City, SD, in a theatre full of military folks on holiday leave and it was the funnest and most raucous moviegoing experience of my life. People jumping out of their seats at the climax and just whooping and hollering. A total blast.

Curious how France is described as political chaos because two parties with ≈60% of the seats in Parliament will negotiate a PM, whereas Netanyahu is always described as the will of the Israeli people, rather than the negotiated choice among eight parties with 53% of the seats.

Local bar/grill has a new lady barkeep who has been making excellent cocktails. Just now I (drinking solo) told her I needed to step outside for a sec, and she said she would keep my drink on her side of the bar for safekeeping. A great little gesture to help solo drinkers feel safe. 💪💪💪
