Event Horizon. The film is broken with the protagonist changing part way through and abrupt tonal weirdness but it scared the shit out of me and is one of the visually best films ever made. Fight me about it. Probably what I'll respond with when asked what my favourite horror film is.

Starmer's prisons appointment is a really good choice imo. Already feels like some effort is going in that will reap positive effects down the line.

When I was last there my impression was that American laws seem too laissez faire or absolutely petty and overreaching. Rarely do you get "Goldilocks" public policy.

The default mode for human beings has never been "do it the longer and most correct way", hah. Every long and correct way of doing a thing is an attack on our collective mortality. 🗿

It's a shame it never seems to come out by guillotining the far right and redistributing their money directly to the needy, instead it always seems to benefit scumbags pushing big lies, typically funded by Russia.

I've been painting this on and off for a while. Not feeling it, but I'd probably look at it for a moment in a gallery. There's a kind of story to it but I mainly painted from my unconscious. Finished is better than perfect.

Right Wingers turning on Sunak is now a thing. The Spectator’s Fraser. Nelson: “The Tories say Labour's plans would cost £2,000 - but if you apply their methodology to their own published tax plans it works out at a £3,000 tax rise.”

Nukes take about 15 years so that won't hit your target but it'll def be on target for 2050 and make it easier to phase out old reactors etc without as much disruption/over-running them for decades.

More nukes, potentially smaller prefab nuke reactors dotted around, make solar & batteries standard on new builds, along with group-owned wind where the air is consistent enough. Goal should be more local generation and redundancy built into the grid.

That's so frustrating. I remember when I was young in the 2000s and it was clear that pretending ignorance of basic biology is some sort of positive innocence was total bullshit. The benefits of helpful openness and honesty should not be perceived as a threat. Gahhhh.
