We're rolling out email verification in the latest Bluesky app release (1.52), as part of a larger effort to improve account security and authentication on the network.
Update and verify your email in Settings. In the coming days, you'll also receive an in-app prompt to verify your email.
I am the least techy person you will ever meet.. how do you do this? I don't have bsk in an app just browser.. do i need some sort of tool or anything?
I would like to report you that send the verification email to a gmail account but open it with a client other than Google's, that client stops trying to decrypt the body of the message.
I've received a demand to verify my email adress. I receive the mail with a code, but I can't write it in the app. The prompt close when I click to write. Multiple tries, same result...
Will email verification be strictly required in the future? If there is email verification, whoever gets access to your email mailbox can see what your bsky account is and also take it over. Not good for privacy and security. Better is 2FA.
The email verification system has a technical problem as the verification code always arrives only about 30 min after the request to send it in my mailbox. When I then enter the code, the system notes that the token is expired. have don this now several times and ave to give up for the moment.....
