What could a Nazi possibly say that would in any way be something that could lead to bettering the world we all have to live in? The fact that the ACLU does this doesn't make me sing their praises, it makes me marvel at their desire for self destruction.

I think the argument is that if you ban the speech of Nazis or “terrorists” all you have to do to justify any act of censorship is call the person you want to silence a Nazi or a terrorist. But OTOH, it’s hard to justify letting them engage in hate speech. Especially since we know it harms people.
