The thing about today's historically destructive SCOTUS decision is that an ideologically conventional administration (Biden) can't make full use of it, or indeed any use of it, because it will rightly refute the premise and won't want to be seen as legitimizing any of this bullshit. 🧵(1/5)

Hrm. I thought he could do things like forgive all student debt as an official act and then force the GOP to take it to SCOTUS. And other things, one after the other. Make SCOTUS fight their own decision as it were. I'm not sure if it's a GOOD idea...but...

Even an administration that is only pragmatically conventional (ie, willing to bend laws but worried about consequences) can't make full use of it, because they would be rightly concerned about more SCOTUS Calvinball modifying, narrowing, or removing their immunities whenever it sees fit. (2/5)
