That’s horrible! I’m so sorry. The worst heat stress I’ve ever seen was driving by a pair of pipe fitters working in 100+ degs. in an oil field. I still wonder about those guys… (I asked to stop, but was told it was unsafe. I wasn’t the boss).

Do you WANT to get Trump elected? Because that’s what could happen if the president is seen “abandoning” Israel with an “indefinite” suspension. We could lose our democracy over this. The article I sent is a good snapshot of the tightrope Biden’s on. It may interest you.

I’ve worked on fed contracts. As a bureaucrat, I know how each branch of govt works and the limits of each. The president cannot cancel what Congress has authorized. He can only suspend or pause UNLESS a law has been broken. I’m getting people out of Gaza, what are you doing?

No, he can’t. First off, a president cannot unilaterally deny what has been paid for. What’s happening now is that some U.S. intelligence is saying the weapons (previously shipped) are being used illegally - now THAT would work, even in an election year. I’m keeping my my fingers crossed.

Why would I deny facts? The Dems wanted arms to Ukraine, the Repubs refused, to try to hamper Biden’s reelection. The Dems refused to arm Israel without Ukraine. It was a stalemate. They passed the funding for both with a few compromises.

I believe anti-semitism is rising because of what’s happening in Gaza. I believe a real ceasefire would change that. I believe we’re not helpless, that we can and should, work for peace, starting with a ceasefire.

Nobody expects that. No one is blaming you or anyone else. What I’ve said all along is that Netanyahu needs to be stopped. Even if I don’t live in Israel, I can still do something; like the protesters did this spring, vote for politicians who want a ceasefire, or send a few bucks to an org, etc.

I said that. And I said that because Mr Orion’s post is related directly to Netanyahu’s campaign in Gaza. I said that because it’s important to do what we can to stop it. Vote, volunteer, give money, write letters to political reps, whatever you can to stop it before it gets worse.

The U.S. does not have an “opposition” system like other countries. It’s the entire Congress that controls funding. If a president has priorities, he has to work with the Congressional committee leaders - regardless of their political party - to get those priorities included in the legislation.

Biden won’t risk “abandoning” Israel UNLESS Israel invades Rafah on the ground. Americans are becoming less supportive of the airstrikes and bombs, so the latest bomb shipment is delayed. Other munitions are already under contract, sadly.
