Blood patches are solid treatment. I have run into one or two people who needed two patches, but that’s out of hundreds, so the odds are in your favor to have it go well. Good luck!

I’m glad the injection is having its intended effect, despite the awful complication! It sounds like you are doing literally everything you can to manage this, and certainly everything I’d regularly recommend. Spinal headaches SUCK, and I hope it improves rapidly.

If you get a blood patch, it’s not uncommon to have a very sore/stiff back for a few days.

I don’t want to butt in, and I’m sure you’ve tried everything, but sometimes caffeine helps, in addition to staying horizontal. And LOTS of hydration. It can take days to weeks to improve, but most folks go for the blood patch before that.

and even if someone thinks "well I don't like/look at porn so why should it be a priority for me?" it's important to remember that when christofascists say "porn" they also mean age-appropriate comprehensive sex education, media with queer/trans people in it, and picture books about gay penguins.

Then I promptly untied it again and proceeded to enjoy the party. Luckily, the guy turned out NOT to be a jerk, but instead a nice gentleman who was honestly impressed with my tie-related skills. (If you’re going to to show up in a vintage tux, you’ve got to *show up*)

I remember walking into an after-party in a tux, undoing my bow tie and popping out my first collar stud as I walked in. A guy asked immediately, “But can you actually tie that again?” I looked at him over the rims of my glasses, tied it (flawlessly, sans mirror), and replied, “But of course.”
