There *is* a mist collector on the machine, but there's only so much it can do to curtail the escaping hot vapor from the chip chute and every other tiny gap in the machine. It's basically water with fancy detergent in it, so it's mildly caustic and oily.

Yeah, decided to cut today in the workshop short when it started to creep past 34C; the CNC's been misting me with a mixture of coolant and way oil, despite the best efforts of the vapor collector. It's like trying to work in a senior's sauna, except the sauna is loaded with dishwasher soap mist

Huh. Neat. Still couldn't push the bike's motor controller past about 55 degrees Celsius. Managed to get the motor itself to about 105C, trying; Not good for it, but not fatally bad for it. It knew what it signed up for when it was mounted on the lab rat bike, though.

There's an interesting demographic system where a lot of people who were furries in the 1990s / early 2000s are staffing cons. And they're either leaving or burning out with very few younger furs willing to helm them. The death of furry cons may come from apathy.
