One defining feature of the fascistic far right in the late 1950s was that they refused to “bend the knee” to the tyrannical dictates of the “invisible government,” like the polio vaccine. This is from the antisemitic “America First” publication, Woman’s Voice, June/July 1959.

The Republicans today truly do want to take us back to the 1950's, in so many ways. It is scary as hell to be honest.

We’ve memory-holed the right wing disinformation campaign against the polio vaccine because it failed, but not for a lack of trying. This is from a late 1950s newspaper put out by Kent Courtney, a very influential far right activist who was an early “Goldwater for POTUS” promoter.

Do the far right ever have any public/personal health concept that doesn't read like eugenics, and gambling that only the genetically superior will survive and if not points scored for sacrificing the young?

It's like they read Hobbes and said "take us back to the state of nature."

I don’t get this. It’s an experiment in misinformation that plays with the life of children. We all know how it will go.
