One defining feature of the fascistic far right in the late 1950s was that they refused to “bend the knee” to the tyrannical dictates of the “invisible government,” like the polio vaccine. This is from the antisemitic “America First” publication, Woman’s Voice, June/July 1959.

We’ve memory-holed the right wing disinformation campaign against the polio vaccine because it failed, but not for a lack of trying. This is from a late 1950s newspaper put out by Kent Courtney, a very influential far right activist who was an early “Goldwater for POTUS” promoter.
