The last few days a bunch of postcard writing electoral stuff went around and I think canvassing locally is better at one particular thing— connecting you to people who live and care in your district or your city. Postcard writing sounds lonely when we need durable connection more than ever.

one nice way of bridging this -- building local community + doing something in states where it matters -- might be to have a house party that you invite neighbors to, have conversations about what matters to you, and do postcard writing/phone banking there!

I also am skeptical of the studies they produced themselves showing that it was better than other options. It is impossible to isolate and describe the effect of one or two pieces of mail especially in the types of races and the types of voters they target.
