Paddling in to camp last year, the 10 yo asked me why I'm still mad at her if she's dead. Kind of a 'what's the point?' question And I was glad she was in the bow of the canoe while I cried a little and managed to explain that just because someone's dead doesn't mean their harm doesn't hurt anymore
