It's not very interesting: I just questioned my entire ability to read, let alone appreciate literature. Having loved the handful of other works I'd read, I thought I 'loved Murukami' but I loathed KotS with a violence previously only reserved for Cider With Rosie (forced school reading)

Ground my way through it, bored and resentful (this was before I learned it was ok to give up on books) and needed several months to get back to reading. Re-entered via fun, plotty, YA when I finally felt strong enough to open a book again

I just wanted to say that I was forced to read Cider with Rosie at school too and I too loathe it with a passion as a result!
