The are lots of depressing things about the school that couldn’t open because so many teachers have C*vid, but top of the list has to be that some of those teachers may now be harmed for life because of it and it was all completely preventable.

A teacher-friend worked with vulnerable children. She developed long-Covid and tried so hard to get back to fulltime work but about eight months later, finally had to concede defeat and resign. She loved her job and loved the kids she taught. She's still not well, 1.5 years after infection. 😥

Very optimistic of the principal to assume everyone will be all better by weds.

It continues to blow my mind (and make me weep) that we aren’t doing what needs to be done to make the air safe to breathe. Except for scientists wanting to do experiments with the virus. Then you need to be in a bio safety level 3 lab. It’s utterly farcical.

My other concern is that there’s no more disregarded sick leave. A lot of works won’t be able to “afford” to isolate / staff off work for a week each time they get Covid given the likelihood people may get it multiple times per year. So people will be coming back to work sick / infectious.
