It’s all very “well what did you expect from Texas” subtext “because I had the privilege to leave Texas” energy. The way people treat violent repression as a foregone conclusion instead of something that can be prevented or reversed with social movements ground in community…whew

It's the most hollow, selfish sort of individualism that presumes that all the people and places around you are fungible and that you have no obligations to anyone but your nuclear family and that no one else should either.
