It's FAR more prevalent on the West then in the rest of the country and it's one of the things I did not miss about moving away from here. Now I'm back and having to deal with it again it sucks. Most of the people involved aren't remotely religious - this is 100% about football.

I work in Learning & Development and my entire industry is awash with fake quotes and baseless models. I ban all use of "inspirational thought" from any management development work I do with leaders unless they can prove to me it's genuine and it actually means something to them.

No don't worry, I totally understand. The country is in a better place than it could have been, but nowhere near as good a place as it should be. A lot of progressive stuff has been swept away in the return to the centre.

At the same time as all that I'd been voting SNP in every Scottish Election from 2003-2016. During Covid I'd moved as far left to actually join the Greens and voted for them in 2021.

2015, 2017, 2019, were all SNP. By then I'd been absolutely radicalised against the whole system and wanted not only the Tories out of power but Scotland out of the union. Austerity, Brexit, the whole mess was awful and Labour had made it clear Scotland existed only to prop up votes in England.

2001 was the first GE I voted in and I voted Labour, same again in 2005. 2010 - for my shame - I voted Tory. My bf and I at the time both thought Cameron was on the right track about things. We were young professionals, money in our pockets, each owned our own home. Privileged Twat Era for sure.

I vaguely understood what an election was and understood enough to know that it was important. The next one was 1997 and I still wasn't old enough to vote in it, but I was a big Tony Blair supporter and chuffed they won.

My first political memory is of the 1992 General Election. For some reason I was at my Nana's house (family party I think). I was a young kid and in bed in the spare room which had it's OWN TELLY, sneakily watching it. I remember the only thing on *all four channels* was the election.

I was, and am still, a huge believer in independence - but I'm also a pragmatist. After that defeat the SNP should have focused on actually governing Scotland, but instead it's been infighting and shite-stirring. Finally lost my vote when they made Kate Fucking Forbes the Deputy Leader.

Not surprised by this story, only surprised the SNP are out with it already. Independence as an idea was wrecked by Boris, he played a blinder for his side and got it tied up so that it doesn't matter who votes for what only the sitting PM at the time can grant it, and none ever will.
