I've asked for book recommendations, but has anyone got ARTIST recommendations? As a non-artist, tell me! Who is out there doing the cool stuff?

I tried my hardest to get to 10k on my wip today but my body was like, no, you've been awake too long, here is some pain. So that's fun. Will try again tomorrow

Well I tried to go on a walk to be healthy and enjoy the sunshine or whatever but my body said no. So I'm back in the house, sulking (and in pain).

I mean obviously it's not that simple, as there's a whole other world with indie, but that's kind of the message I found really impactful.

I just finished reading Yellowface today, and although there's so much I could talk about in this book, it really spoke to me about writing. How trad publishing can morph your art into numbers and the next best thing, while indie publish is more like sharing your work/passion with the world.

Oh yay, todays depression showed up feeling like my heart has been ripped out of my chest. Deep sorrow for something I cannot fix. Love that π anyway, I've been absent lately and I'm going to try and fix that. Writing has been basically nonexistent, but going to try harder

How is nuerolink supposed to work with intrusive thoughts? I'm very concerned. For more than one reason but I'm really getting stuck on this one.

Don't hate me, but I'm listening to Sense and Sensibility and it's giving "this should have been an email" vibe so far. I'm six chapters in and I still feel like I'm listening to a prologue that should have been shortened into a few pages but just keeps going.

I love noise canceling headphones! I went from biting peoples heads off just for talking to me, all the way to being super chill with headphones. I did not realize so much background noise bothered me that much.

Me: I just hate it when they add those annoying sound effects to videos that are super loud and random. I don't know why.
Me to me: babes, you're autistic.
Me: oh right. Forgot for a moment

This may be controversial, but can I please just submit my application for a job? Do I really have to create an entire profile on then company website that I'll never go to again? Like please, I'm so tired of this.

Me, minding my own business and making beeswax candles on the stovetop.
My mother: remember it's hot so take proper precaution!
Me, enacting the end of The Menu and pulling the glass out of the boiling water with my bare hands, trained from my own time working at restaurants: okay!

Feeling this hard as a mother of an autistic 7yo. And, tbh, her behaviour's not even that unusual for a child her age. She just comes over as a bit over-friendly (asking kids on play dates when they've only just met, wanting to play unicorn tag), but Christ the way some ppl react to her *already*...

My commissions are open!
Help me pay for my dental stuff, groceries, and more Murderbot books to read.
This is my main income until I manage to find another job (I always fail at finding one and it sucks but maybe 2024 will be different and I'll finally be financially stable?)
Thanks!

This year, in scrivener alone, I wrote 211,538 words total. I'm not sure if I should be happy that I could write that much in six months (I took a break for the first 6 months of the year). Or insulted that I don't have a book done after all those words. I'm a bit of both.

I actually feel good today. I'm totally blaming the full moon on my weepy week. Am I gaslighting myself by ignoring my emotions and blaming a rock in the sky? Maybe. But I'm back to reading and writing like a maniac

I need a Christmas movie where an autistic person learns to love Christmas again after learning the reason they hate it is because masking through gift giving and family events is hell. And they heal through found family. Also make it gay.

If you're into pagan vibes for the holidays, why not try something with Slavic gods, dark snowy forests and bleak winter weather? "Dark Woods, Deep Water" is my debut dark fantasy novel.

Please donβt be the reason one of your friends or family catches covid and dies. Seriously. Postpone your plans if sick, wear high quality masks in public and while traveling, and rapid test before and after gathering (yes even if you feel fine).

Just a casual reminder that wearing a mask can help keep you warm this winter while simultaneously keeping you from spreading a stealth virus that may not show symptoms for the first few days. It's a lot warmer than a scarf.

I would never tell my work that I have autism, but I did find one sentence in a shared document that had a slightly different font and changed it during a meeting in front of my boss, who was shocked I could notice such a little detail, which I feel like is kind of the same thing.
