Of course this was the 70s so it's surprising that we found someone who didn't treat me like I was going to be a drag on the schools resources or society....it wasn't cool to have special needs and there were no IEPs. (3)

I didn't need mobility aids or anything but I was so clumsy and uncoordinated I don't know how I would have made a living. I had gym separately from my peers in order to get 1 on one balance training (2)

If there was a single person I wanted to talk to from my youth it would be my gym teacher from elementary school. I had inner ear and balance problems and I really believe it was his help that got it so I could function normally in society. (1)
