You absolutely don't need a fursuit to enjoy American cons. I pretty much exclusively wear my hoods to them and have a blast! The EU is pretty strict about con wear for some reason but Americans don't care haha

Oh I agree completely. I mostly just think aesthetic sometimes is used in lieu of storytelling rather than as a tool to enable it. Think the generic mass production wall decor at Target

I agree Mira Murati, in fact if some jobs don't need to exist in the first place I'd argue yours is probably at the top of the list 🙄 I can't imagine saying something this blatantly evil and sleeping comfortably at night.

Even if you only take the 17% that are used part time that's over 3 million homes. It would solve US homelessness four times over and then some.

I will never forget when activists asked cities to make largely empty hotels open up their rooms to the homeless during COVID and pretty much every city said "lolno"

26% of vacant homes are vacant because they're available for rent. 17% are vacant because they're only used part time. Combined that ends up being about 6 million homes. There's absolutely no excuse.

That's not even accounting for the fact that 16 million homes in the US are completely vacant. There is absolutely no excuse for homelessness in the year of our lord 2024. Ban corporations from owning homes.

Sometimes I think about the fact that 7.1 million houses in the US are "second homes" and we only have ~650K unhoused people. If you own more than one house all of your extra properties should be taxed at astronomical rates. There's no reason so many people should be living on the streets.

Oh I def agree. I think it's healthy for everyone to continue reevaluating the relationship they have to the substances they regularly partake in. Beer and weed when abused can destroy lives even if they're not "hard" drugs. Responsible substance use is important for ALL substances.

I feel so starved for real true affection. I regularly dream and fantasize about just getting cuddles and kisses and rubs daily. Been feeling incredibly lonely for a while now and I don't really know how to fix it :(

telling people "drugs are bad" doesn't stop anyone from doing drugs. normalize harm reduction and meeting people where they're at. don't try new drugs at events. try them in comfortable spaces with people you trust first. don't do psychedelics without a trip sitter especially if you're new.
