okay webdevs, hear me out - what if we didn't actually need SPAs what if, and i know this might sound crazy, but what if people aren't actually that upset if they need to visit a separate page for a new context and they just want it to load quickly free yourself from bloated UI components!!!!

Hot tip for people using direct messages: Never make your first DM to someone you never DM'd before a casual "Hi, how are you?" message. Instead, give a proper introduction and state your intentions or the question you want to ask. Just come right out with it! You'll be more respected for this.

probably a hot take but instead of saying a company "should" cater to the small, unpaying segments of their userbase you should just argue for the company to be nationalized or forced to become a non-profit foundation. i hate capitalism too but it is the model they are forced to operate under

somewhat counterintuitively, looking for in-person job fairs and recruiting events is gonna bear the most fruit. when i started trying to transition to tech, i attended multiple in-person networking events and it took 6+ months of doing it every month to get into the gig, but online-only was worse

looking for job openings on linkedin/indeed/ziprecruiter is good for basic searching but you're also competing with literally everyone on the internet. avoid companies that lean into having you apply on linkedin or whatever, and lean towards companies that make you apply on their websites

in my experience, wfh is industry-dependent. working in/adjacent to tech gives the best options, but i've heard reasonable results for sales and HR. hybrid workplaces are probably an easier in, especially if the company is trying to retain talent (most of my coworkers come in 1-2x a month if ever)

i getcha! fwiw, that's why i'm using apple as the hypothetical here - their research focus has been on small models, which i believe is a better and more sustainable model for integrating continuous ML applications.

i think that's fair! to try and suss out the nuance, would improvements to the energy requirements (i.e. shifting towards ARM architectures, implementing a likely-utopian level of clean energy usage, etc) be the sort of developments that address those concerns? or is the sheer scale a non-starter?
