love seeing hot takes about islamophobia online. ppl rly dont realize theres a difference between criticizing any religion (valid, u wont see me complaining) and creating an entire false (and overly negative) image of someone in your head because of their background. islamophobia is the latter

i riff on catholicism. me and all of my 2nd gen immigrant friends riff on islam. it was a part of our upbringing. i dont care what jokes u make. really. but it crosses a line when i cant get a job/get treated differently than others when the only difference between me and them is my background
