I can remember from a pretty young age having a keen fear of atheism specifically. That was right after 9/11 and the New Atheism came to public attention. But rather than test my fear, my dogmatism became a shield. It was an unhealthy way to think, but it was driven by “touch and you die.”

yeah it's pretty silly in retrospect, the way we police what we're exposed to, as if we're going to catch apostasy from another human, or a book at the same time, that is the view of what happens from inside it, I get that.. "they started listening to the lies of the world!" and then we're gone 🤷
