the dude was an underrated defender alongside Draymond, Bogut, Iguodala, KD, and GPII.. always in the shadows of great defenders, a big guard who caused problems on both ends, could switch on to 1s and 3s.. IMO the Mavs end up using him in an all-offense lineup, which the Mavs somehow compete with?

Klay Thompson might be my favorite athlete I've ever rooted for, when he is in destruction mode there's not much you can do - Game 6s, 38pt quarter, most threes in an NBA game.. plus coming back from the two devastating injuries the way he did and winning that 4th trophy.. 😭🏆😭🏆😭🏆😭🏆😭

dope! I grew up without TV so the Jordan legend was born via Sports Illustrated Kids, & I had a Bulls championship hat even though I lived in the BayArea then I got into music in high school & college and that meant none of my friends were into sports anymore 🤷 The '07Warriors got me back into it

taking the time to allow yourself to get to know yourself after a childhood of hardline religious indoctrination is a necessary step on the path to healing. Evangelicalism effaced so much of me that for a long time I didn’t really know who I was or what I wanted. I’m still figuring some of that out.

I relate to your friend, I threaded the needle between what my X-ian adults told me was important and actually helping & loving people for SO long, it was such a tangled mess I ended up ripping the whole thing apart rather than living in that tension any longer, there's so much freedom outside it

in another life I managed a X-ian camp it was TOTALLY NORMAL in my background to tell kids about animal sacrifices & cross executions so the Jesus story would hook them and when a speaker did that to the campers a volunteer asked 'why man! they're kids!' I was so in it I couldn't see his point 😭

totally, if I'm self-aware of my own motivations (alot of us aren't) I can introduce the idea of religion, mine or others, to kids in a way that isn't coercive, then they can claim it as their own if-and-when it feels right to them, built on their own experiences and not just copying mine

I related alot to the post-religious journey in this article when it's that intense as a kid it burns you out, and the thought of redeeming any of it is so disheartening, legit *triggering* even but over time you can find healing and re-engage with spirituality, whatever that means to you 🥰
