There would be a 7-2 center-left majority on the Supreme Court today if narcissists and fools hadn't voted for Jill Stein and Gary Johnson in 2016, or sat out the election entirely, because they told themselves that "the lesser of two evils is still evil."

Many are down on Kamala Harris’ political skills and appeal. Not unreasonably. But to many of those same people she seemed like the Second Coming of Obama until she actually ran for POTUS. My point? Whitmer et al are also unproven on the national stage until they actually run.

Fun fact: Trump led the GOP to a fluke victory in 2016 (with assists from J. Comey, V. Putin, and E. College) followed by GOP defeats in every national and off-year election cycle since (with the lone exception of the Virginia governor’s race in 2021).
