It’s also unlawful. Having billed insurance for a hospital for 25 years I can assure ALL medical records except for those needed to verify payment treatment or operations for insurance payment purposes are covered under HIPAA and this blatant violation of federal law should not be taken lightly. WTF

And IDK where this judge gets off because Missouri state law can't supersede HIPPA. It's going to get stayed and slapped down hard by the federal courts.
I suggest people try reading the article linked in the OP before reacting to the headline. It's quite informative. Or even read up-thread a bit, since other posters have summarized some of the more important points in it.
This is bad, but I'm not sure it's quite that bad, yet. The court's order's clear that it doesn't (and, legally, can't) preempt federal law that applies (in this case, HIPAA), and HIPAA covers anything that could link care to an individual, including billing records.
Why's it lawful for people who won a popularity contest to try to kill people?
Isn't the arbitrary eradication of American citizens for non-compliance with State Religion something that warrants federal intervention?
So dumb. Do you know how hard it is to get kids to take meds? No one is taking puberty blockers unbeknownst to their parents. My tweens gripe about taking cough meds. And it's not like they're out there filling prescriptions without me.
