Different people have different sleep cycles. They tend to move forward with age. If he's always been a morning person, he's likely awake and productive at 5 AM. It tells me he's aware of and working with his natural body rhythms whenever possible rather than arbitrarily overriding them.

Haven't been able to get meds since 2017 because of insurance stuff. Have appointment next week. And then my idiot brother visited and gave me Covid. Aaargh!!! Hope they let me mask or telehealth.

First time that I know of. I was vaxxed in May but he flew in through HI and Houston so it's likely one of the newly evolved strains. The September vax would probably work. Fat lot of good that will do me And with all the moving stuff around for the reno I can't find my bag of K95 masks. Grrrrr

I have Covid. Joy. My brother came to visit and I found out too late that he didn't bother masking in the seething hubs and tubes full of pathogens that is our airline transport system. He always has before so it just didn't occur to me to take precautions. My bad.

It was coming from a very different lived reality. Coping with misogynoir involves treading a very fine line. It's hard enough speaking in public as a White woman with racial privilege. "Going low" can be anywhere from ineffective to dangerous, depending on the situation. I can't judge.

I need to time-delay Comments/Posts, copying them in after a specified length of time. ADHD impulsivity is an utter PITA but it's reason, not an excuse. If it gets in the way, I need to find a way around it

3/ Whether they'll listen, eh. But you're at least more likely to get their attention than by complaining on social media. The latter tends to be tuned out as static. People who take the time and bother to write letters are often more politically active and litigious. Pests, albeit not dangerous.

2/ It needs to be snail mail, a professional business style letter on bond; it's harder to filter it. A customer who took that much trouble can be a PITA, there's often an SOP to placate them. If they get a flood of letters about the same problem, the CEO will hear about it.

1/ A "Karen" tip: you can sometimes get a response from companies about a problem with a product by writing a neat hardcopy, snail mail letter addressed directly to the CEO at corporate headquarters. They won't see it but they have aides whose job is to deal with these, as in Congressional offices.

It's accounting jargon. It makes sense in very specific limited situations, usually involving budgeting and calculating profit margins. Unless you know those appropriate situations it sounds silly and pretentious.

Not online communities, but I remember reading somewhere that at around 96 people or more, indigenous groups in South America requested outside judges to resolve intra-group conflicts. The dynamics got too complicated for internal resolution in larger groups. Wish I could remember where I read it...

In 2016 I kept telling everyone I knew SCOTUS was important. Like, _really_ important. Didn't matter if you hated Clinton (I was lukewarm) having a Dem nominating SC justices made me practically a single issue voter. Got a lot of blank looks.

Usually behind the sternum, slightly to the left of center. My dad had a long scar where they opened him up and broke his sternum to access it for his heart bypass surgery. It can vary considerably between individuals however, we aren't like the neat diagrams you see in anatomy texts.

I confess I adore my electric blanket but do _not_ recommend using one for a child. They don't thermoregulate as well as adults. Me, I regulate the temp by tossing it off and pulling it on again as needed. Works for me. NB I'm also not insane enough to tinker with its built in safety features.

I also think TFG will be massively worse for both us and the Palestinians. He's a sociopath who will quite happily allow any arms manufacturer to sell any regime all the weapons systems they like as long as they've lined his pockets. Who they shoot them at won't matter to him.

I don't agree with you on that, in that he's not an unequivocal supporter of the genocide. I think he's trying to thread a needle and failing, i.e. he believes he can still influence Netanyahu and get him to stop the genocide by trying to placate him. I also think he's dead wrong and it won't work.

I do like his domestic policies and he's made truly some excellent Cabinet and other personnel choices. A presidency isn't just a single person, it's a team. He's proven very talented at assembling his. I'd prefer a younger candidate, I just think that ship has sailed.

I don't like his foreign policy re: Israel but frankly I don't think people appreciate how tough it is to thread that needle. There are powerful US interests he needs on his side vs. others he doesn't want to offend but inevitably will. Any candidate would face that dilemma. There's no good answer.
