LOL - exactly this - Dad was a plumber, I worked for him while I was at Uni and can do 90% of it myself. Trades were always people we knew, who would do stuff at the weekend if we weren't doing it ourselves. We all did DIY on our house growing up too.

ahh its ok - its just sometimes I get a shock that I'm actually a grown up. I have no problem getting someone to do it - its more the process of getting them in to do it. I've never really "got" that process.

I've just booked some trades in to replace the spouting on my house and even though this is a thing that I know a) I can't do myself b) have budgeted for and know I can pay - I still feel like its something that I'm not capable of/is too grown up for me.

When you say kitchen do you mean room to cook in or do you mean room with a fitted kitchen? Because older houses would have had a table in the room with the fireplace for preparation and things cooked on the open fire. Some might have had a aga typr thing as well. Hitch dressers for storing plates

I went to my second appointment for a diagnosis having forgotten to send the reading material and give my partner the heads up that she would need to be involved. She was battling a hard deadline so couldn't do it. went to the appt - was told it was pointless without her and to reschedule...
