Keep saying it loud and often: generative "AI" is not intelligent, it is riddled with inescapable errors, it is structurally incapable of ever doing half the things its hypers claim it will do, most of it is snake oil in search of a mark to scam, and it's environmentally destructive to boot.
I wonder what Stephen Wolfram and the people at Wolfram Alpha think of all this, they've had a question-answering AI that actually does the math since 2009!
again unsurprising how the insecure marks flipped right from crypto tokenomics to peddling AI bullshit.
it flips their ancap switches, they get to pretend they're technologists by spouting jargon they don't understand, and (their apparent favorite) some sort of supremacist cudgel
(Increasingly liking "snake oil" as the metaphor here: mystery ingredients, wildly unfounded claims about its benefits for consumers, useless at best, poison at worst.)
saying again that Sam Altman's "we are all stochastic parrots" argument is instructive; it shows us that the people at the top level who want to force this shit down our throats don't believe consciousness, or even understanding, are real things
