Relatedly the whole concept of meritocracy took a huge blow, was exposed for the myth it always was. You can work hard, be really smart, do all the right things, and some bully's just going to come along, call you a nerd, fire you, destroy the company/ country, and be worshipped for it.

One of the things I think this is highlighting is how much the job of grading has become asking oneself "what's the lowest grade I can give on this garbage without getting static from this student who is only taking this course for a requirement and has no discernible interest in anything."
