Yeah, I totally get that too. after thinking about it, demos would be better suited for getting people to try the game because arcades being so rare now. I'd like a lower priced base game that brings it up to the 60-70 cost when you pay for all of the DLC characters.

The Switch is one of the more affordable consoles. If you don't go for a PS5, you gotta hope you have a decent video card on that PC. My prediction is that the majority of players will be on PC for playing at home while PS5 remains in person.

Oh no disagreement at all about actual gameplay improvements! The recent fighting games that have come out are all very solid hits and improvements over previous versions. I'm hella hype for the Marvel collection with rollback! Price and hardware that's the new hurdle for getting into the games.

Oh really? That's pretty interesting! I don't see the super popular games going F2P but making a lower base cost with a more rewarding battle pass to round out the price feels like the best of both worlds. They already have the cosmetics aspect.

I don't think full F2P would be possible for fighting games, but I can see the upfront cost being slashed to make battle passes and DLC characters a more impactful purchase rather than paying full price, then more each time a new character is released.

There's such a heavy focus on tournaments for fighting games. I don't want to call it esports but it is. Would it be possible in the future to see a F2P Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, or Tekken to get more players and offset the cost with cosmetics in exchange for more newbie players?

I'll preface this with that I don't know anything of the FGC, I want a few chill streamers who play in T8 tournies- With fighting games being console based rather than arcades like the days of old, is paying full price for a game limiting the pool of competitive players? Or does it not matter?

I hope you get more chances to draw art like that. It's a never ending struggle of balancing work and fun! I love it when artists get to just enjoy themselves and vibe with their drawings.

One of the art tips that are on my mind often is that "you should make the character look at the viewer" because those tend to do better "engagement wise" than when they do not But, i personally love when characters have their own lives outside of you and they don't have to be flirty all the time

Yeah! I'm very thankful for people making feeds like OnlyPosts so I dont miss anything! But I'm all for QRPs for boosting. I mostly RP art I like and leave a comment. I was curious about other reasons for QRPs and was reminded of tagging friends to show them the post.

I have the replies filtered to preserve my sanity of following 700+ people. I like the mindset that replies should be between the poster and replier and I shouldn't be overhearing everyone's conversations. I can get quite overwhelming and reduce visibility on new art posts.

People can see replies to their own art but I think the reply filter settings are for seeing replies to -other- people's posts. I see it as a spam filter if you happen to follow a lot of people. The post owner would be notified of receiving replies.

Yeah, I get the boosting QTs but I prefer comments in a reply to the post so I can see it and go "thank you!" I love leaving comments. I wonder if you're able to tag a friend in a reply and it'll show up in the friend's notifications? I have done some QT tags to share funny posts with my friends.

I live in Alabama and I have to drive for hours to get to a large city outside my state for any sort of convention. Plane tickets are insane. Table and hotel costs are way too high. I much rather do actual creative work instead of being a merchant. Those who sell merch, y'all are strong.

Reading some recent posts about the real cost of making merch and selling comics has gently put my ideas of ever going to a con as an artist out to pasture. I'm staying home and when I get around to making a comic, it'll be in black & white and you have to order it online. Costs too much to travel.
