A nice shout-out to the TSA agent at SFO who simply said "alright" and let me through, and a nasty shout out to the one at MCO who thought I was rude, then asked why I didn't want to do it. And an even better shout-out to ORD who doesn't have it yet, at least in Terminal 3.

I have had several totally insane aggro TSA people at MCO and really nowhere else. Like honestly frightening and threatening older straight men who were specifically trying to scare me. And like, i travel all the time? That never happens anywhere. Bizarre

On my Lufthansa flight, the employee couldn't understand me telling him that I did not want my face scanned, and that I wanted to opt-out to not do this, and he was like, "yes yes, i understand, go this way [to the scanner]." (I made it out without a scan)

ORD has it in Terminal 1. I've used it twice already. It's so fast and convenient. But I have a face nobody would want to imitate so I'm not too worried. 😒

Not even necessary because everyone should recognize the face of the dishwasher guy by now.

ORD best airport. Anyone who asks you to pick them up from Midway hates you and likes when you step on Legos.

It‘s also strange that it simply tells you „go“ but not who it identified you as. At least I couldn‘t see my name or seat number anywhere. In theory it could have confused me with someone else on the same flight…

I had an MCO TSA agent lecture me about how he had to swab by switch because even though he recognized what it was on the X-ray, if he didn’t verify it wasn’t made of explosives, terrorists would invent a bomb with the same x-ray profile as a switch.

I had my photograph taken when entering the - god, what do they call it - "passenger boarding bridge" in ORD for a trans-Atlantic flight. Don't recall which terminal. The experience was very "photograph everyone going on" and not "facial recognition" but of course it could happen in the background.

I've gotten the stink eye every time I opt out, I always apologize for messing with the flow too but honestly it seems like the machines take longer than the old fashioned way of just looking at my ID
