I love the pretty, spacious and relatively quiet bierhall in our neighborhood. I wish for it to succeed so that I may visit it at my leisure. But I really wish they would not play automated streaming music in the bierhall.

I was pretty crazy about Patton and also a Henry Rollins fan so when he did a performance on the Rollins show it was pretty memorable & in the interview with Patton he talked about Peeping Tom like it was not "a band" per say but an evolving collective ala Gorillaz youtu.be/t5mz9s8Jp-4...

George Clooney being duped by Biden in 2020 only further reinforces my opinion that his evaluation of Biden's electability isn't worth a Trump promise. I don't want to vote for Biden but even less do I trust the Democratic Party to manage the unprecedented feat of replacing him at this stage.

My theory is that there is an inherent defensiveness around Led Zeppelin, where folks want to delineate them from pop culture's revisionist rebranding of psych rock as a genre closer to pop music than rock. Which has more to do with how late stage capitalism has hollowed out pop music entirely.

Literally a core element of the genre. Led didn't do this because they weren't interested in purposefully incorporating classical structures or techniques. Their "mini-symphonies" are only called prog rock now because of decades of being labeled as such by, well, writers like this one.

This is like calling "Hotel California" a prog rock song, or "Stadium Arcadium" a prog album. If elements of classical/avant-garde/experimental music aren't a defining feature of the genre, then you're redefining prog rock as just psychedelic rock. www.loudersound.com/features/led...

The differences between liberalism and the left are not minor ones. The insistence that they are comes from the assumption that it is impossible for any genuine human being to honestly both understand and disagree with liberal values/philosophy. But we can and we do.
