When I was with a group of supposedly-evangelical MAGAs, they’d call Trump a “flawed vessel” that they only supported because of the stuff he promised. And because of their seething hatred for Democrats.

Biden’s crew made a specific choice to be boring and productive to counterprogram the Trump circus, but after four years of constant craziness, I think a lot of folks think that “quiet” means “inactivity”.

Most Democrats on talk shows have basically said “yeah, he did a lousy job at the debate, but let’s focus on his accomplishments, on Trump’s lies, and what a disaster he’d be if re-elected”. Not much reality denial there.

My parents visited a few yrs back (when that was a thing) and said it was bizarre -- gov't guides showing you "approved" swanky hotels next to slums, people driving classic cars with parts made from junk and shoe leather, stores using three different currencies.

It should be noted that this isn't an exaggeration -- I think it was Sotomayor who clarified with Trump's lawyers that they were arguing that the President could have a SEAL team assassinate a political opponent. 6 members of SCOTUS agree.

For those keeping track at home, in the past week, SCOTUS has ruled: • Government bribes are legal as long as they're received *afterwards*. • The courts and SCOTUS now oversee all federal agency power, not the president • The president has absolute immunity for "official acts"
