I worry I could wind up in the same spot. Other half has no will, no directives, hasn't written down passwords, and, well we aren't married and I turn 59 this month, he turns 70 in January.

All I'm going to suggest is keep the expensive stuff, sorry about making it work later. Keep notebooks and such, he may have written down passwords or numbers in it. People do strange things on drugs.
