The Distinguished Africanist Award. The award is presented to a senior scholar in recognition of distinction in publications, undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, mentoring, leadership, and institution-building in the area of African politics.

 Copies of nominated books must then be sent to each committee member at the addresses listed below no later than May 4, 2024.  The award is made every year at the annual ASA meeting.

The APCG Best Book Award. (Awards for 2022 and 2023). To be eligible for the Book Award, books must have been published in English in 2022 or 2023.  Edited volumes are not eligible. Please send nominations to the committee chair, Brett Carter, at blcarter@usc.edu.

The APCG Best Article Award. All articles published in peer-reviewed journals in 2023 are eligible. Please send the full abstract and, if possible, a copy of the article itself to the committee chair, Danielle Resnick, at D.Resnick@cgiar.org. .

Best Graduate Student Paper Award: The papers cannot have a co-author with a Ph.D. To nominate a paper, please send an email with the paper and the conference name to the committee chair, Michael Wahman, at wahmanmi@msu.edu. No self-nomination

Best Graduate Student Paper Award: Eligible papers must be nominated by a member of the APCG (self-nominations not allowed), written by a graduate student, and presented at the 2023 APSA, 2023 ASA, 2023 ISA, or 2023 MPSA annual meeting.

Best Dissertation Award. The committee invites submissions for the best dissertation in African politics. Only one dissertation may be nominated per department. Departments are requested to submit a letter of nomination and an electronic copy of the dissertation to robert.mattes@strath.ac.uk.
