I haven’t read comics in a while and subscribed to Marvel Unlimited recently. In both X-Men and X-Force there’s Laura/Talon, except they seem to be different people? Is the one with Synch from a different timeline, Cable style?

Last night I remembered the first Kickstarter I ever backed. It was for a book, and a few years later he still hadn’t written the book. Over the next few years he posted updates about getting married, and getting an editor, and then about how his wife left him for his editor.

I laser cut a box for my Blood Bowl team tonight and glued in magnets. It’s great! Except I did nearly glue magnets to my fingers several times and don’t currently have much feeling in one of them as a result.

It was a superstitious belief that using an animal's true name would allow it to hear what you said, detect your presence & cast spells on you... so euphemisms were used ritually, like Russian 'medved' (медведь) meaning "honey-eater". Other names: shaggy coat, bee-dog (Beowulf), brown one (bear).

The noun "bear" is from a DIFFERENT Proto-Germanic root: 'bero' which means just "brown one". By contrast, the Latin and Greek roots are 'arktos' and 'ursos', which suggests a PIE root of '*rtko' meaning "bear" So how did the Proto-German get it so wrong? Here we encounter "hunters' taboo"!
