"broken clock is right twice a day" sucks. i hate this phrase. i want to design a better broken clock. when you shake it (sounds of loose gears and springs) it will tell you a random time that is not the current, correct time. it will be right no times a day. this ain't your grandpa's broken clock

im gonna try plantnet having seen it mentioned here (thanks @abomination.computer ) but i use Seek and it's good for random plants by the roadside + in the woods

the fronds and stems are great quick-pickled, you can slice and roast the bulbs, and if they make it to flowering (some get eaten first lol) they grow tiny sweet fruits around each fennel seed! you could dry them for seeds, but i almost always just eat the fruit
