While I don't get the rejection of Harris as a possibility, I also don't think you are right that Harris has to be the choice. Her profile isn't any higher than other potential contenders.

Please explain to me how snubbing a black woman who's been a heartbeat from the presidency for four years will maintain a coalition that relies on black and women voters. Not to mention the time to plan for a replacement for Biden in this cycle was roughly this time in the last cycle.
She is the other person on the ballots that the Democratic voters chose.
