my brain filled that in with "fingering" and "a person on their period" which is actually a pretty wholesome reaction given the options I recently was pitting a bunch of cherries (the old fashioned way, I'm jealous of your tech) and I wore latex gloves to prevent this outcome, recommended

all cop shows are copaganda. yup, even that one. yup, even though they did that plot or hired that actor or said that thing. yup, even though it's not an american show. no exceptions. ppl are always trying to sell me on some cop show and tell me it's ~different but it's literally not possible

YES it's so real. one of the things I love about Staged is that it's clearly based in reality, but it's like . . . David Tennant and Michael Sheen intentionally playing their worst selves. There's such vulnerability even to the fictional bits of it, in that pandemic style of intense vulnerability

this was always my issue with delicious pot brownies or banana bread: once you're high, you really want to eat more brownies or banana bread I never get the munchies for weed gummies but otoh I'm not really a candy person

so infuriating! in higher ed in the United States, tenured professors are prevented from unionizing because they're seen as "managers" - because sometimes they become department chairs temporarily, tho the whole argument misunderstands higher ed

this is an interesting question - I wonder if it's actually more in the category of meta? that's where I'd make the argument. though that argument would be easier to make if the playlist had a blurb under each vid talking about it and how it fits the theme etc.

literally the plot of about three separate star trek episodes. the theme of those episodes is "this is bad" but treating criminalized people like sub-human test subjects and thinking "AI" can do useful, world-changing things go together like peanut butter n jelly

agree, I hate this! I read a fic recently that thankfully did the opposite, it was like, "someone makes a deliberate decision to be silent to make the space uncomfortable" and after a little less than two minutes there is so much horrific tension in the room that no one can stand it

agree that I've never once heard a canadian call a flashlight a torch! to me a lantern is a different thing, a big one with a handle on it. but yeah, flashlight. so many people refuse to think about canada when they talk about "US vs Commonwealth" or "US vs UK English." annoying!
