I keep on thinking about how John Roberts messed up nitrogen oxide with nitrous oxide in a ruling on how the courts were better suited to provide expertise than experts.

"Russia has had an active and not-so-subtle hand in coups in each of these three countries, which were preceded by at least a year of intensive disinformation aimed at destabilizing the democratically elected (and Western-leaning) governments in place."

Some reduce the 2024 campaign to a contest between two old men, but it's a choice of two slates of federal appointees who'll impact your life in a million ways. Biden has staffed executive agencies with excellent choices who are doing good work. Trump will empower an army of Stephen Millers.

"from the end of 2019 to the end of 2023, the lowest-paid decile of workers saw their wages rise four times faster than middle-class workers and more than 10 times faster than the richest decile"

The real reason Musk is pouting and lying.

Would not have expected this well-reasoned rant from the smug, front-running sports shouter Colin Cowherd but right is right.

Never mind. I get it. You misspoke. I think the implied preface to that statement must have been, "Between Americans and Germans"

"most of the killing in WW2" This is all you found on the internet? WW2 was only between US and Germany?

I don't think that means "most of the killing in WW2." You are a Russia expert, so this isn't news.

On your claim that Americans did most of the killing, what is your source? Seems patently false. Which isn't to say we shouldn't have some regrets about Dresden, Hiroshima...

When the ratio is 30:1, that ain't going to cut it. Big picture, Israel is doing the opposite of defending itself.

If my neighbor raped and killed my daughter, I'd be devastated. If I killed my neighbor's whole family plus a couple dozen of their relatives and friends in response, I'd be a murderer.

Fair enough. I probably assumed more than i should have. But I'm still not hearing any regret for Israel's killing. Israel has acted utterly irresponsibly to advance the political aspirations of one man and to suave the worst instincts of the most radical elements. Any wonder kids are pissed?

Also weird that you are letting Israel off the hook. Entirely, it seems. Weird that anyone has to say that's weird

1. Government can be an enemy of freedom is different from "is the enemy." 2. People who say it is the enemy often want to inhibit my freedom to choose the government I prefer.

I remember 2016. Trump supporters said he wouldn't actually build that useless wall, it was just campaign rhetoric.

i think that drives me insane about both author and subject— but especially subject — is that it is beyond evident that the only thing they really believe in is their own sense that they are a higher, more sophisticated being than everyone else. two professional fart-sniffers.

I get the impatience with compromise, but the difference between an administration that pressures Israel behind the scenes and one that celebrates the massacres is significant.
