It frustrates me on so many levels, not least of which is that a lot of these programs were genuinely impressive feats of code, but instead of appreciating that somebody made a really good Roomba, people insist that the Roomba knows what dirt is and hates it.

LLMs are not NFTs you can do (some) cool shit with them and they’re fascinating under the hood but they are not capable of becoming Skynet or the Geth or even Rosey from the Jetsons

I’m fine with personalising a Roomba in the sense of “I gave him googly eyes and his name is Dave”, I like that, but these tech bros who want to bring their AI waifu to lifu are not doing that. They Want To Believe.
