Problem is when they are at a standstill, and with the noises of other traffic it can be harder to hear these EVs. You need something that is clearly audible with all the sounds of traffic, having a clear way to tell if a EV is accelerating would also help blind folk crossing streets.

Or you could have safe crossings four pedestrians that don't depend on them being alert enough to dodge cars

I can clearly hear the noise an EV makes even surrounded by large gas-guzzling trucks. Like I said, it's a white noise, so it's even easy to pinpoint what car it's coming from.
